Magic Lantern Art Gallery

Welcome

Thank you for visiting Magic Lantern, originally opened in December 1995 as the first virtual art gallery in Switzerland. For over a decade we have presented the works of a number of invited artists, whose styles range from landscape to abstract in a variety of media, and featuring exhibitions in many parts of the country. In the meantime the scale and use of the Internet has expanded dramatically and new possibilities emerged which also led us in new directions. The original Magic Lantern concept seemed no longer appropriate and early in 2009 we decided to close the gallery.

Mountain landscape paintings by Peter Young

The gallery was always pleased to present Peter Young's mountain landscape paintings. Celebrating the beauty of light and colour on unspoilt places and affirming the value of our natural heritage, these images in paint on canvas aim to inspire a sense of wonder in the world around us. Following the closure of the Magic Lantern gallery, these works can now be viewed at www.peteryoung.ch, which is dedicated to Peter's landscape paintings. Some examples are shown below:

Evening light on the Säntis, painted in acrylic on canvas by Peter Young, 2003 Schreckhorn with clouds clearing, painted in acrylic on canvas by Peter Young, 2008 Churfirsten and Walensee, painted in acrylic on canvas by Peter Young, 2005 Monte Rosa in Winter, painted in acrylic on canvas by Peter Young, 2007
